Creative Submission Rules: What to Check Before You Submit

Every ad, landing page, GMB listing and video you run on a MarketCall offer has to be approved before it goes live. This article explains what our moderators check, what to attach so your creative can actually be reviewed, and the rules that most often lead to a rejection.

Most rejections we see are avoidable. They usually come down to a missing screenshot, a free-hosted landing page or a sentence that isn't allowed in that vertical. Spend five minutes with this page before you submit and your creatives will be approved faster and stay live longer.

The offer page always has the final word. Every offer lists its own allowed traffic sources and restrictions. If something on the offer page differs from this article, follow the offer page.

Quick checklist before submitting

  1. Attach everything required for your traffic source

✓ Paid Search (Google, Bing) → attach ad preview screenshot and landing page URL
✓ Social (Meta, TikTok, YouTube) → attach screenshot of the live ad or Ads Library link, ad primary text, and landing page URL
✓ Native / Display → attach every ad image with its headline and landing page URL
✓ GMB → attach Google Maps link to the listing
✓ SEO / Organic Website → attach website URL
✓ CTV / Video → upload the video file to Google Drive and attach the shareable link
✓ RTB → apply to the RTB version of the offer and provide required traffic source details

  1. Check your landing page

✓ Landing page promotes only allowed services
✓ Website uses your own domain
✓ Required disclaimers are added
✓ No misleading claims, fake discounts, or unsupported guarantees

  1. Check your creative content

✓ No brand impersonation or misleading affiliation
✓ No prohibited wording or unsupported claims
✓ No fake urgency, countdowns, or scarcity messaging
✓ No unsupported prices, discounts, or savings claims

  1. Different verticals have different requirements. Before submitting, review the rules for your offer:

✓ Home Services
✓ Flight Booking
✓ Debt
✓ Auto Insurance
✓ Final Expense

How creative review works

When you submit a creative, your affiliate manager reviews it against the offer's rules and the rules on this page. Some offers also need the advertiser's approval, so after our review the creative goes to them as well. If anything needs fixing, the rejection note tells you exactly what to change.

Approval covers the exact version you submitted. If you later change the headline, swap an image or edit the landing page, submit the new version for approval before you run it. Running unapproved creatives leads to rejected calls and can get your campaign paused.

The #1 reason for rejection is missing material. Across every vertical, 28–53% of rejected creatives were missing something the moderator needed, most often the ad screenshot. A landing page link alone is not enough for paid traffic: we need to see the ad people actually click.

What to attach for each traffic source

A complete submission lets the moderator see exactly what a caller sees, from the ad all the way to the phone number.

Traffic source

What to attach

What people often forget

Paid search (Google, Bing)

Ad preview screenshot, landing page URL, keyword list

The keyword list. For flight booking: the search-term report for the last 15 days

Social (Meta, TikTok, YouTube)

Screenshot of the live ad or an FB Ad Library link, the ad's primary text, landing page URL

We need a paid ad. An organic post on a Facebook page is not accepted

Native / Display

Every ad image with its headline, landing page URL

Sending one image when the campaign runs five

GMB (Google Business Profile)

The Google Maps link to the listing

The listing is blank, or missing a phone number or website

SEO / organic website

The website URL

The site promotes services the offer doesn't cover

CTV / video

The video file

Sending a description or storyboard instead of the video

RTB

Apply to the RTB version of the offer

Submitting GMB or SEO traffic to an offer that is RTB only

Example of a complete paid search submission: a screenshot of the ad preview showing all headlines and descriptions, the landing page URL (for example https://bestroofpros.com/replacement), and the list of keywords you bid on. For a flight booking offer, add the search-term report for the last 15 days.

GMB listings

For GMB traffic, the Google Maps link to your listing is the creative, and no separate landing page or screenshot is needed. That makes the listing itself important. It should be complete, with a business name, phone number, website and photos. Blank or half-finished listings are rejected.

The business name must be your own, generic name. Names that copy or imitate an existing business or brand are rejected. On dental offers, a listing named after an individual doctor ("Dr. Jane Smith", "John Smith DDS") is not accepted either. Remove any links or services on the listing that have nothing to do with the offer. For flight booking, listings located at airports are not allowed.

Many offers don't accept GMB traffic at all, and some have a separate GMB version. Check before you apply.

Rules for every creative

Use your own domain

Your landing page must be on a domain you registered. Any extension works, and so do subdomains of a domain you own. What we can't accept is a free subdomain handed out by a website builder or hosting service.

✅ Accepted

❌ Rejected

bestroofpros.com

sites.google.com/view/best-roof-pros

quotes.bestroofpros.com

bestroofpros.wixsite.com

roofhelp.space, flyhelp.ai

bestroofpros.netlify.app, bestroofpros.vercel.app

bestroofpros.com/offer-2

bestroofpros.carrd.co, bestroofpros.framer.website

The same applies to Squarespace, Weebly, WordPress.com, Blogspot, Webflow, GitHub Pages, Durable, Mixo, Lovable and similar builders. Before you submit, open your landing page in a private browser window. If it doesn't load, or a redirect is broken, the creative will be rejected.

Show the right phone number, in the right format

Use only the tracking number MarketCall assigned to you. Seeing different tracking numbers in your ad and on your landing page is normal and fine. What matters is that every number is written in the standard US format.

✅ Correct

❌ Incorrect

(888) 555-0142

+1 888 555 0142

8885550142

888-555-01-42

On inbound call offers, the phone number should be clearly visible with a click-to-call button. A lead form, questionnaire or "text us" option in place of the number sends callers down the wrong path, and those creatives are rejected.

Stay on the offer, and be honest

Promote only the service the offer pays for. If the offer says "no car key replacement" or "no roof repair calls", those services must not appear in your ads or on your landing page. They bring in callers the advertiser won't pay for.

Never present yourself as someone you're not. That means no posing as an airline, insurance carrier, government agency or any other real brand, no carrier or airline logos, and no bidding on brand names. Deceptive elements are rejected in every vertical: fake testimonials or ratings, countdown timers, "only 3 spots left" scarcity, fabricated screenshots, and made-up badges or certifications.

Finally, proofread. Broken characters, unfilled placeholders like {city} and headlines that are cut off in the image all get the creative sent back.

Rules by vertical

🏠 Home services

HVAC, plumbing, roofing, pest control, water damage, windows, gutters, solar and other home-services offers.

Home-services offers are for homeowners only. Any mention of commercial, business, industrial, office, restaurant or multi-family work is enough for a rejection, even a single line in a list of services.

Required on every home-services landing page. Missing disclaimers cause almost a quarter of home-services rejections. Copy the text below into your footer exactly as written, replacing [This site] with your site's name.

[This site] is a free service to assist homeowners in connecting with local service providers. All contractors/providers are independent and [this site] does not warrant or guarantee any work performed. It is the responsibility of the homeowner to verify that the hired contractor furnishes the necessary license and insurance required for the work being performed. All persons depicted in a photo or video are actors or models and not contractors listed on [this site].

If you use the words "24/7" or "Same-Day" anywhere, add this second disclaimer as well. Otherwise, remove those words.

Same-day and 24/7 emergency services are subject to provider participation, location, technician availability, and demand. Availability is not guaranteed and may vary by market and appointment capacity.

How to fix the most common copy problems:

❌ Instead of

✅ Write

Why

"Free AC inspection today!"

"Call now for a free quote over the phone"

Free on-site visits are not allowed. A free phone quote is fine

"50% off water heater installation"

"Water heater installation. Call for a quote"

Discounts and promotions are not allowed

"$0 down, no credit check financing"

Remove it

No financing claims of any kind

"Commercial & residential plumbing"

"Plumbing for homeowners"

Residential only

"We bill your insurance directly"

"Licensed & insured"

No promises about insurance billing or claims

"Average replacement cost: $8,500"

Keep it, and add a source link in the footer

$ amounts need a source

"Lifetime warranty on every install"

Add: "Warranty terms depend on the individual provider"

Warranty promises need this note

Rebates, cash-back and tax-credit claims are not allowed either. Superlatives and customer reviews are fine in moderation, but pages stacked with "best, cheapest, #1" are sent back. Roof repair needs approval from your manager before you promote it.

✈️ Flight booking

Which traffic sources are allowed varies from offer to offer. Paid search is usually accepted. SEO, brand bidding and GMB depend on the specific offer. For paid search, always attach your search-term report for the last 15 days. Missing material, including this report, is behind more than half of flight booking rejections.

Never present yourself as an airline. A booking page must make clear that you are an independent travel agency, not affiliated with or endorsed by any airline. Listings or sources that impersonate an airline can be paused immediately.

❌ Instead of

✅ Write

"Delta Reservations Desk"

"Independent travel agency. Book your flight by phone"

"Unpublished fares only agents can see"

"Compare fares and book with a live agent"

"Cheap flights, lowest prices guaranteed"

"Find and book your flight with a travel agent"

"Baggage, check-in and travel questions"

Remove it. Promote booking only (plus changes and cancellations where the offer allows them)

Listings located at airports are not accepted.

💳 Debt

Debt offers are among the strictest on allowed traffic, and many online sources are restricted. Check the offer page before you start. Your creatives should promote debt settlement only, never loans or consolidation. The claim "100% debt elimination within 18–24 months" is approved for use. When you submit, include your landing page URL and your ad screenshots or an FB Ad Library link.

❌ Instead of

✅ Write

"Get a loan to pay off your debt"

"Resolve your debt with a settlement program"

"Consolidate all your bills into one payment"

"100% debt elimination within 18–24 months"

🚗 Auto insurance

Accepted traffic includes Meta, Google Demand Gen, YouTube, TikTok, email, SMS, Newsbreak, native/display, paid search and TV. SEO, co-reg, incentivized traffic, pop-under, offerwalls, brand bidding, coupons, retargeting, classifieds, apps and messengers, call centers and brokered traffic are not accepted. Social traffic must be real Meta ads, not organic Facebook posts. Spanish-language creatives are welcome. Never send test leads.

❌ Instead of

✅ Write

"Drivers are saving $900 a year"

"Compare auto insurance quotes in minutes"

"Get free car insurance"

"Check your auto insurance options"

"New government program for drivers"

Remove it. No government or politician angles

Carrier logos or a celebrity face

Your own neutral imagery

Rebates and "get $$$ to sign up" offers are not allowed.

🕊️ Final expense

Accepted traffic is paid search, social and display. Many final expense buyers work via RTB, so check which version of the offer fits your setup. SMS, ringless voicemail, transfer or rescue calls, incentivized traffic and bots are not accepted, and neither is GMB unless the offer says so. For CTV campaigns, attach the video itself.

Age filtering is required. Your pre-landing page must filter callers by age to match the offer's allowed range.

❌ Instead of

✅ Write

"Government program pays for your funeral"

"Final expense coverage. Speak with a licensed agent"

"Only 3 spots left today!"

Remove it. No fake urgency

"Plans from $9 a month"

Remove the $ amount

Aggressive, fear-based copy

Calm, factual copy

If your creative is rejected

Read the rejection note carefully. It lists everything the moderator needs you to change. Fix every point, not just the first one, then resubmit with all the required material attached.

Not sure what a note means? Ask your affiliate manager before you resubmit. It's much faster than another round of review.

FAQ

Do I need approval for a small change to an approved creative?

Yes. Approval covers the exact version you submitted, so any edit to the ad or landing page needs to be resubmitted.

My offer accepts GMB. Do I also need a landing page?

No. For GMB traffic, the Google Maps link to a complete listing is the creative.

Can my ad and my landing page show different phone numbers?

Yes. Different tracking numbers are normal. Just make sure each one is formatted as (888) 555-0142.

Can I run Spanish-language creatives?

It depends on the offer. Auto insurance accepts them, while some other offers don't accept Spanish-speaking callers. Check the offer page.

Where do I find the rules for my specific offer?

On the offer page in your MarketCall account, under allowed traffic types and offer rules. Those always take priority over this article.
